My electricity 4.0 – subsidies for photovoltaics

Financing for the purchase of a home photovoltaic installation under the Moje Prąd program has been one of the most important factors motivating future Prosumers to invest in their own PV system since the first edition. As a result, in recent years we have observed a boom in photovoltaics in Poland, and today the number of users of this solution has already exceeded 800,000.

My Electricity 4.0 program – what’s new?

Currently, applications for co-financing of such a purchase can be submitted again, but due to the change introduced on April 1, 2022 in the method of settling accounts between Prosumers and the network operator, the Moje Prąd 4.0 program focuses exclusively on subsidizing solutions settled under net-billing, which is intended to contribute to among others to promote self-consumption of produced resources. It is worth noting that this time, applications can be submitted not only by people planning to build a new home solar power plant. The program allows for situations in which Prosumers who have previously settled under the discount system, but are willing to benefit from funding for additional investments, e.g. for the purchase of their own energy storage, may take part in the recruitment process provided that they permanently switch to net-billing.

How much money was allocated to the Beneficiaries?

The subsidy for photovoltaics under the Moje Prąd 4.0 program, similarly to previous editions, provides for co-financing of up to half of the eligible costs incurred for the investment. Currently, the pool includes PLN 350 million from the EU REACT EU mechanism, and applications to the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management can be submitted only online from April 15, 2022 to 2023 on a continuous basis. Beneficiaries can obtain a subsidy of PLN 4,000 for a new investment, and if they combine it with the purchase of an electricity storage facility, a heat storage facility or a HEMS/EMS system, this amount will increase and in the final settlement it may even amount to just over PLN 20,000. zloty. In the case of current Prosumers who decide to switch to net-billing, these amounts are lower, and all details can be found on the Ministry’s website.
