How to set up a photovoltaic farm?

The demand for electricity in Poland is constantly growing, and European Union regulations that prioritize diversifying sources of energy and moving away from fossil fuels mean that there is now a noticeable increase in interest in alternative solutions. It is therefore not surprising that more and more industrial photovoltaic farms are being built in the country, producing energy from renewable energy sources on a much larger scale than the popular PV micro-installations.

Photovoltaic farm and its establishment – where to start?

Establishing a photovoltaic farm is an investment that requires appropriate preparation, both formally and technically. The key element in this case is to have an appropriate plot of land that meets certain requirements (including in terms of location, level of sunlight or soil quality class). For this reason, the area intended for the installation should be audited – this will assess, among other things, profitability of investment in a given location. The audit report will also definitely facilitate making further decisions related to the implementation of plans.

Stages of building a photovoltaic farm

When deciding to set up a photovoltaic farm, it is worth using the services of an experienced company in this field from the beginning, e.g. Solar-Tech, which will support the investor at individual stages of the investment in a large, industrial installation with a power of over 200 kW. After selecting the appropriate plot and before construction begins, the investor will still have to:

– preparation of a conceptual design (selection of optimal solutions, planning of infrastructure, preparation of analyzes and calculations), –
obtaining administrative decisions (including development conditions, connection conditions, decision on environmental conditions), –
obtaining a building permit and preparing a construction design,
– joining the RES auction with the project and obtaining a license for the production of electricity from renewable sources, if the planned installation will have a capacity above 500 kWp, –
as well as preparing the documentation necessary to obtain the financial support available at a given time – subsidies, leasing or loans.
